No matter how good your tires are, they will need to get replaced at some point. Most drivers need new tires within three to five years of purchasing their car, but if you don’t use your Chrysler very often, this could be extended to six years. Read on to find out which signs and symptoms indicate that you should take a trip to the Chrysler dealer’s tire center.

1. It’s Been Longer than Six Years

Even if your car is still running well on your current tires, you should go to your mechanic and have them checked out frequently if you’ve had the same tires for over six years. On average, you can drive with a set of tires for 12,000 to 15,000 miles, but everything depends on the brand and style. Your mechanic can perform a number of tests to make sure that your tires are not worn out and causing damage to your car.

2. The Tires Look Worn

Often, there are visible signs that a tire is no longer fully functional. If you’ve had your current set for several years, you should check for issues such as cracks and cuts in the sidewall, uneven treadwear, and bulges or blisters. These could all be early warning signs of upcoming issues. As soon as you notice visible wear and tear, you should get in touch with your mechanic and ask them about purchasing a new set of tires.

3. Your Car No Longer Drives Well

There are many reasons why you might experience shaking, tilting, or vibration when driving. For example, there could be a problem with your engine, brakes, or steering mechanism. However, sometimes the issue is less serious, and you’re simply driving on worn tires that need to be replaced.

To make sure you and your passengers remain safe on the road, don’t ignore changes in the way your car drives. Instead, go to your dealership and ask for a tire inspection.

4. Problems with the Tread

The tread is the rubber on the circumference of your tire that makes contact with the ground when you drive. The small grooves in your tires are quite deep at the beginning, providing you with a lot of traction. But as you wear down the rubber, the tread decreases. A good mechanic will rotate your tires regularly, so they wear down evenly and last longer.

But even with good maintenance, you will eventually need to get a new set of tires when the tread gets too shallow. You can tell the state of the tread by inserting a quarter into one of the grooves. If you can still see Washington’s head, you should get your tires replaced because they are close to being worn out. If you do the same with a penny and you can see Lincoln’s head, the tire replacement is urgent.

Worn tires, problems while driving, and a shallow tread are all indications that you need to replace your car’s tires.
