Trim Levels
The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is sold in six trims: the Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve. The standard exterior features are roof rails, 17-inch aluminum wheels, power heated outside mirrors, LED taillights, and LED reflector headlights on the Laredo. The Altitude rolls down the road on 20-inch wheels and includes rain-sensing windshield wiper blades to keep your vision clear and a power liftgate. Moving up to the Limited gets you memory settings on the outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, LED fog lights, and 18-inch wheels.
The Overland also sits atop 20-inch wheels, adding a hands-free power liftgate and an exterior power-folding, automatically adjust-in reverse mirrors integrated with memory, turn indicators, approach lamps, tilt, and reverse. In addition, you will find door courtesy lamps, exterior front lighting animation, bi-function LED premium reflector headlights, and exterior door-handle approach lamps. Engine
Three engines are offered for the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. First is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 that makes 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque while getting an EPA-estimated 26 mpg highway, along with a maximum towing capacity of 6,200 pounds. The second offering is a 5.7-liter V-8 HEMI that churns out 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque while garnering a maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds.
The final engine is a PHEV engine called the 4xe that puts out 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque while being able to tow up to 6,000 pounds. All engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
Most trims feature rear-wheel drive as standard but offer four-wheel drive as an option to handle rough terrain and inclement weather better, as you'd expect from a Jeep. Four-wheel drive is standard if you go with the 4xe or the HEMI. Sport mode is offered to maximize performance with the push of a button. Rounding out the performance features is a heavy-duty engine cooling system and a rear load-leveling suspension system.
Interior
Starting at the Laredo, interior features include a Wi-Fi hot spot, an 8.4-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a power-adjustable driver's seat, SiriusXM, voice command, dual-zone automatic climate control, and USB ports. Opting for one of the upper trims will grant upgrades such as four-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated, massaging front seats with memory settings, a power-adjustable passenger seat, leather upholstery throughout, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Additional interior options include a 10.1-inch touch screen and a rear-seat entertainment system.
Safety Features
Among the standard safety features are a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, an active lane-management system, adaptive cruise control, a rear backup camera, and rear parking sensors. Optional safety features are also offered, such as ParkSense front and rear park assist, night vision with pedestrian and animal detection, a trailer-hitch zoom feature, traffic sign recognition, a surround-view camera, and an active driving assist system.
